The article highlights the issues of the integration of historical and ethnographic heritage into
modern design practice, and its close connection with creative and educational processes. The
importance of preserving cultural heritage through education is emphasized. To achieve the research
goal, theoretical and practical aspects were used in the study of scientific literature in the field of
ethnography, art and design, in the analysis of museum collections and archival materials, as well as
design modeling. National design is an expression of the aesthetic ideas of the people, in which the
synthesis of traditional and modern contributes to the strengthening of its spiritual unity of the nation.
In the works of Kazakhstani designers and artists, the traditions of spiritual and material folk culture
become the basis for the formation of a unique system of design education, which will combine the
latest technologies and national preferences.
Designers adapt works of art and material heritage to meet modern challenges by interpreting
forms, functions, and the cultural code. The topics include the integration of historical and
ethnographic material for the educational project activities of designers who are suitable for different
work formats, as well as the inclusion of these projects in the social environment.
